The 29th Annual International Computer Software and Applications Conference COMPSAC 2005 Edinburgh, Scotland, July 25-28, 2005 COMPSAC is a major international forum for researchers, practitioners, managers, and policy makers interested in computer software and applications. It was first held in Chicago in 1977, and since then it has been one of the major forums for academia, industry, and government to discuss the state of art, new advances, and future trends in software technologies and practices. The technical program includes keynote addresses, research papers, industrial case studies, panel discussions and fast abstracts. It also includes a number of workshops on emerging important topics. Include the title of the paper, the name and affiliation of each author, a 150-word abstract, and up to 8 keywords. Include also the name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address of the author responsible for correspondence of the paper. The authors of a number of selected papers of special merit will be invited to submit an extended version of their papers for possible publication in a special journal issue. INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS OF FAST ABSTRACTS Fast abstracts are to report on-going work, practical experience, new ideas to provoke further validation, or positions on controversial issues. Submit about 1000-word abstract, including the title, the name and affiliation of each author, and the name and e- mail address of the contact author. Fast abstracts may be organized as regular sessions or poster sessions. INFORMATION FOR WORKSHOP ORGANIZERS A major feature of COMPSAC 2005 will be half- and full-day workshops. These workshops will enable timely important issues to be explored in depth. A workshop proposal should include organizer's contact information, the workshop title, rationale, coverage, how participants will be solicited, how workshop papers will be evaluated, and experience of past workshops on the same or closely related subjects. Information on other workshop activities, such as plans for journal publication of selected papers, is encouraged. INFORMATION FOR PANEL ORGANIZERS Panel sessions will be held in parallel with the paper sessions. Organizers should submit panel proposals, including organizer contact information, the title, a 150-word scope statement, proposed chair and panelists with their affiliations.
