Department of Chemistry

About This Department

The discipline of chemistry, which clarifies the structure and characteristics of matter and enables the creation of new substances, lies at the very heart of many sciences and technologies. This department offers both lectures and laboratory work that enable students to learn chemistry as a basic science, while also helping them to master such practical fields as materials science and environmental chemistry.
The laboratory work i.e. experiments using advanced equipment are also carried out at the High-Tech Research Center. In addition, new project “Research for the creation of Green/Life Innovation based on sunlight” has started in 2012. This project is dedicated to the development of novel reaction systems and energy conversion systems based on solar energy as well as utilization of unused biomass.
